Work in progress: series of 14 identity films for Rutger Hauer Filmfactory (2011) Our relationship with Rutger Hauer started in 2008 with the documentary-website irememberthefuture.com followed by 'Buddha's Medicine' which was shot on super 16 in Ladakh, India and premiered at the I've seen film festival in Milan.
Excerpt irememberthefuture.com (2008) Shot with the extremely handsome, intuitive but simple and cheap Samsung NV10 camera, sound was recorded using an iPod, a TuneTalk adapter, Sound Devices mixer and Sennheiser 416 microphone. The recording took place on the Ikea parkinglot in Haarlem, in early 2008.
'Buddha's Medicine' (2008) 'Buddha's medicine' was financed by the NCDO, ASN Bank and Dutch Ministry of Foreign affairs and set up as a corporate documentary originally titled and screened as 'You are the singer, I am the dancer'. From outtakes and roughly shot material a second film resulted from this project, which was more experimental in its approach. The short film was narrated and co-produced by Rutger Hauer. Other works in progress include 'Here comes big trouble' (a film shot to promote Kodak Vision 3 super 16 and 35mm). And 'Transit International Routier' which follows the high-waytrail to the end of the road leading into the Sahara desert. Previews will follow later this winter. |
